Power of Forgiveness

Forgiveness gives one’s power back – one’s happiness back.

Forgiveness means to excuse for a fault or offense.

Being unforgiving brings these feelings forward to each new relationship, and life becomes difficult to enjoy.  Feelings like anger and depression may also cause you to lose relationships with people who don’t want to hear the complaining, and it may also cause you to question your beliefs in God or Divinity.

Let’s say on a scale from 1 to 10 you are at 4 and your resentment toward someone is at 6.  At level 4 you will feel overwhelmed with the feelings.  Making a positive change using the Power of Forgiveness and becoming stronger and moving up to 8, your problem at a 6 will then feel like it is no longer a problem.  It might feel to you like it has moved down to 2 or 3 and you’re way up at the top at 8.  Can you feel that moving yourself higher up on the scale those problems no longer stay problems?

The power of forgiveness will help you to rise above and to move on to more important things in your life that will give you peace and happiness.

When we stay angry and bitter it can lead to a plethora of problems for ourselves – including health problems. Continuing to hold on to grudges and being the victim does not allow one to heal and move on with life.

When we rise above feelings and situations, we change the world.  This change in the world is because one has decided to become more loving.  It is called responsibility, growth and maturity.  This happens because we have decided to heal and grow and make the change in us, and this change in us is reflected into the world because we are more loving, happy, and more centered and that consciousness effects everyone in a positive way.  Isn’t this great to know?

When we realize that we make choices and that we are growing and learning, forgiving others becomes easier.  To forgive yourself can lead to feelings of understanding, and compassion for others.

Power of Forgiveness helps move one toward a more loving, peaceful and harmonious world for one’s own good and for the good of all others in the world.

The power of forgiveness is to forgive, release and let go of whatever you are holding on to. So, in the power of forgiveness, which includes forgiving yourself and forgiving others, it grows one’s soul.  Did you know we are all here to learn and grow?  – even if you don’t know it – we are.

We must develop and maintain the capacity to forgive. He who is devoid of the power to forgive is devoid of the power to love. There is some good in the worst of us and some evil in the best of us. When we discover this, we are less prone to hate our enemies. –Martin Luther King, Jr.

The weak can never forgive. Forgiveness is the attribute of the strong. — Mohandas K. Gandhi

Forgiveness is freeing up and putting to better use the energy once consumed by holding grudges, harboring resentments, and nursing unhealed wounds. It is rediscovering the strengths we always had and relocating our limitless capacity to understand and accept other people and ourselves. –Sidney and Suzanne Simon

Matthew 18:21-22 Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother when he sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy times seven.

We also forgive so that our prayers will not be hindered:

Matthew 6:14-16 For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.  But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

Mark 11:25 And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.

Power of forgiveness, forgive yourself, forgiving others, life
